How can I book The FunPad?

Booking The FunPad for a birthday party on the weekend is as easy as 1,2,3...
1. Go to the booking page, choose the date and time you wish to host your event.
2. If the time slot is available, proceed through the online booking system.
3. If your preferred date and/or time is not available or if it is showing out of service zone please fill up the quote form and will let you know the price to extend the service to your area

What's Included in the package?

Standard Birthday Party Includes

Note: You have the option to add more time in multiples of 30 mins

Events, fetes Includes

An experienced person to manage the queues and split them into groups of 20 and can collect/check tickets, if it's ticket event

Daycare incursion Includes

  • Onboard playtime 
  • Experienced staff for kids' engagement who keeps the kids engaged with games and activities and also manage the queue and if required can also organise and split them into the best possible groups

Note: All our staff have WWC checks and we have 20 mil public liability insurance

What's the cost of the party package?

I am not able to find the slot I am looking for, can I choose another slot of my choice?

We have prefixed slots and booking slots keep opening and closing depending on where we are on that day, for example, you might not see an evening slot available but if you come again after some days it might come up, this way we are able to offer you cost-effective parties.

 

Which area do you service?

 We service inner suburbs in the east and southeast of Melbourne for birthday parties but sometimes extend to we out suburbs of Melbourne if we are close with additional cost. Check our booking page to check availability or if it's showing out-of-service areas, Please fill up the quote form and we will get back to you with availability and price(by checking our booking and we can extend). For events(3 or more hours) we travel anywhere in metro Melbourne.

What age group kids is it appropriate for and how many kids can go in at a time?

Suited to children aged 3-12 years

The FunPad can accommodate on board…

  • 25 children aged 3-6 years
  • 20 children aged 3-12 years(Mixed age group)
  • 17 children aged 7-12 years
Do you provide food?

We do not provide catering. If you are not in the mood to prepare yourself you can always buy sandwiches or sushi platters from Costco and even order McDonald's happy meal to be delivered to your doorstep. Can I change the venue of the bus, or do the booking now and choose the venue later?

Yes you can, provided it’s in the same area(within 2 kms) or within same distance. If distance is more than previously booked venue, then the extra charges may apply. Advisable to inform us well in advance, for smooth running of the event and to avoid last minute confusion.

What is your health and hygiene policy?

Here at The FunPad we are committed to providing a safe, clean and hygienic play space to ensure maximum enjoyment, minus the nasty germs, whilst your child is on board. At The Funpad we employ the following procedures...

1. We clean the play equipment after each party with a non-toxic, natural sanitiser.
2. At the end of each day, the play equipment is given a thorough wash and clean.
3. We wash the children's hands before they board the bus.
4. Children must wear socks on board.
5. Children are required to wash/sanitize their hands on re-boarding if they have disembarked to eat.
6. No food or drink is to be consumed on board.
7. Children who have been unwell with colds, coughs, temperatures or gastro symptoms are required to be 48 post symptoms before being able to play on board.
8. Children who are visibly unwell will not be permitted onboard The FunPad. This includes a runny nose.

Do you have public liability insurance?

Yes we do and we are happy to provide a certificate of currency should you wish to view.

Party Related
Where are you going to park the bus ?

We can park the bus outside your house, community centre, cafe/restaurant at your closest park.

Usually, The FunPad parks and sets up on the road outside your house, or if your driveway can accommodate we can park there(only with double driveways with a width of at least 4 mtrs). The FunPad is a full-size double-decker bus that weighs approx. 10 tonnes whose dimensions are 4.3m (H) x 9m (L) x 2.4m (W). The following needs to be considered as to where The FunPad can be parked:

  • Height clearance of 4.3m. This includes ensuring there are no low-hanging wires or branches in the area in which the bus will park(if in doubt leave us a note before or while booking and we will check on Google Street Maps).
  • Firm and relatively level ground upon which The FunPad can park which will allow for safe access for children to enter and exit the bus. Please consider that private driveways have not usually been designed to accommodate the weight of a double-decker bus.
  • In car spaces, we require 2.5 car parking spaces to accommodate the length of the bus, If parking parallel to kerbside, or we are parking vertically in a horizontal car park space we need 6 parking spaces to get in and out safely(which is normally the case in parks and community centre parking).
  • The FunPad cannot operate on significant inclines.
  • The FunPad cannot park on main roads where the sign has no parking or stopping.
  • The FunPad cannot park in any location that causes an obstruction.

 

I don't have space outside my home can we do it at nearest park, does it require permit ?

Yes, you can do the party at the park and you usually don't require a permit to do it at parks as long as you are using the dedicated car park space which is on a first come basis for more details on how to find a park close to you as per your criteria you can also check the following page, it includes the tool to find the park as well.

How do you manage in hot/cold or rainy weather?

The bus is fully airconditioned so that kids can enjoy it without being getting hot/cold and it's fully sealed so no water can get inside. Kids can enjoy inside and parents can relax without worrying about the weather outside. Once inside the host will take care of kids and entertain them with games and activities

Can the parents go on the bus?

Yes, they can, to take pictures but it is advisable to be only inside for a few minutes and for the rest of the time wait outside so that hosts can play the games and activities smoothly without kids bumping in the parents. There are couple of seats at the front of the bus which are directly in front of the CCTV monitor where parents can sit and watch their kids if they want.

Do I need to stay on the bus with my child?
The care and supervision of the children is the responsibility of The Fun Pad’s staff member whilst children are on the bus. Members of staff are there to oversee the children playing on the bus, oversee the running of the event/party and to manage and operate the vehicle and equipment. Once children leave the bus, this includes for use of the toilet they are the responsibility of the hirer/parents/guardians and the party/event. FunPad staff are not able to leave the bus and are unable to supervise children who choose to leave the bus. For children’s birthday parties, one adult minimum is required to stay on the bus to assist with supervision and supervising children exiting the bus. For parental convenience, a parent viewing area is available on board with a seat which is in front of our CCTV monitor. For event functions over two hours, a supervising adult is not required to stay on the bus as The FunPad will provide an additional staff member. However, supervising adults attending the event will still be required in close proximity to assist children once they leave the bus or to use toileting facilities.
What happens when the bus is late?
Whilst we will endeavor in each situation to arrive on time to our booked parties and events, unforeseen circumstances may delay our arrival. In the event that The FunPad is running late, we guarantee you your full booked play time, without compromise.
Does the bus drive around as part of the party?

No, The FunPad remains stationary for the entirety of the party or event. we have lot of play activities inside and also one host will be there to keep kids engaged with games and activities

Does The FunPad need an external power source?
No, The FunPad has onboard generators to power all equipment. In addition, should we be required to provide a bouncy castle for larger parties and events, our generator is also able to supply the power source for this.
Cancellation/Refund
Can I cancel/change my booking?

We understand that things change and are happy to help in the following ways.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

  • Full refunds(except $25 Administration fees) are applicable for events cancelled no less than 4 weeks before the scheduled event.
  • 50% payment will be forfeited for cancelled events less than 4 weeks before but no more than 1 week before the scheduled event.
  • 75% of payment will be forfeited for cancellations made less than 7 days before the event.
  • 100% payment will be forfeited 24 hours before the event.

Reschedules and Alterations Policy

  • We are happy to reschedule events within a 6 month period if the request is made to alter your booking no less than seven days before your scheduled event.
  • Changes to your bookings are dependent on our availability at the time of making the change.
  • In extenuating circumstances, The FunPad can apply at their discretion to alter bookings less than 7 days before the scheduled event.
  • Only one reschedule is allowed for any one booking.
  • No changes are permitted on the day of the booking.
  • Change fees will apply depending on how far from the booking you are making the change. Exact fees will be provided at the time of the change request.
  • For out-of-service areas, The FunPad can apply at their discretion to alter bookings before the scheduled event.
Covid-19
What happen if we are not able to do the party due to Covid-19 lockdown/restrictions?
In case you are not able to carry out the party due to covid-19 restrictions. In this scenario, the following rules apply

  • We are happy to reschedule events within a 6 month period if the request is made to alter your booking.
  • We can also change the booking to a different venue without any additional charge if the venue is within 5 km’s of the original venue 
  • If you are unsure of the next date, we can give you a credit voucher(valid for 6 months from the first booking date).
  • Changes to your bookings are dependent on our availability at the time of making the change.
  • No changes are permitted on the day of the booking.
  • Refunds are done based on our refund policy based on the first date of booking(before rescheduling).
